We got an A!

This lovely co-ed chose to write her paper about our non-profit at the University of Oregon. We are proud, we are seen, we will continue to strive to hit the marks that she sees as areas to improve and we couldn't be more proud. She got her Sway on

Student artists in residence program at the house is something of an experiment breeding educated artists with full fledged self-esteem. Suey~ This lovely young lady accepted our invite to come live with us in July of 2016. She had already lived with me once before working on her life when she was 18, now she was 20 and her life still needed a push. Her desire was to finish high school, as I would say, the real high school. The adults around her were saying "just get the HISET plus and move on". The HISET is the modified GED. I knew her ego too well and knew ...

Permanent Walls – They Just Want to Paint

This letter will propose to the cities of Los Angeles an inspirational adjustment to the approach to graffiti abatement. One that creates a web of well educated artists and designers ready to give back to society and remain loyal to Los Angeles. Stressing The House

There are cracks in the drywall of our headquarters as we strive to build a solid foundation upon which our figurative spawn will stand to create and make art and change their lives. Even when those nights end at day. Even when those nights have characters coming and going, trying to front for ...

Maybe one of our guys will travel the world painting murals and selling internationally. Maybe someone will put plexiglass over one of our kid’s art and call his building more valuable. I am not in support of vandalism, but I do see the art of expression coming to fight the good fight and I am okay with it.

Running Off The Wall ~

Volunteerism happens with people who make their living elsewhere and volunteer outside that realm – we are the structure to which that volunteer would come, but we need support for the structure.

Marketing The Cause ~

The qualities of leadership that are needed to guide change are often the same of a highly involved parent. The kind who knows the friends and parents of all their kids and whether or not homework was assigned over the holiday. The ones who know the slang and aren't afraid to drop it in opportune times when questioning how did you get that paint? Did you "rack it?" The looks and reactions tell the whole story. The world that our "kids" live in is colorful, dynamic, active and absolutely normal, while often colliding with dysfunction and horrible parenting. It's a wonder ...
